Mutual Exchange Process
A mutual exchange is a property swap which is authorised by your landlord. Whether your a UK Council or Housing Association secure Tenant you have the right to swap homes with another Tenant. It does not cost anything in the form of legal fees, though you will be required to pay for your own removal and packaging fees. Terms and Conditions will apply to both parties involved, parties will have to have paid their rent up to date, no exchange can proceed with outstanding rent arrears, and both parties must be suitable for each others homes.
